A COMMUNITY OF INDEPENDENT SCHOOLS PROVIDING WALDORF EDUCATION TO THE CHILDREN OF NEW YORK CITY
Waldorf education, founded 100 years ago, incorporates a revolutionary “whole child” curriculum that inspires reverence for the natural world, for one’s self, and for others, while building practical, social, and cognitive capacities.
Adapting the traditional pedagogy of Rudolf Steiner to the diverse, urban environment of New York City, these schools offer children a developmentally appropriate, experiential, and academically rigorous experience, with the intention of educating free individuals capable of imagining and creating an inclusive, responsive, and sustainable future.
Rudolf Steiner School (Upper East Side) is the the oldest Waldorf school in North America, serving early childhood through 12th grade. New Amsterdam School (East Village) is the newest Waldorf school in North America, serving early childhood through 4th grade (growing to 8th grade).
